Events
Grinnell comes alive with many events and festivals throughout the year that draw thousands of residents and visitors. Grinnell Games, which won a statewide Tourism award in its first year, kicks off the summer in early June and is meant to get everyone actively enjoying the great parks and facilities in town. It includes skateboard and BMX competitions; running, swimming and biking events; plus family activities at a host of locations.
Summer continues with 4th of July festivities and the Midsummer's Arts Festival, Friday Fest, Music in the Park, the region's best Farmers Market, Ridiculous Day and Ag Appreciation Day. Fall plays host to the Prairie Festival at Grinnell College, Jingle Bell Holiday highlights the winter season, and spring is greeted by the Home and Community Expo, which showcases Grinnell's business community.
